4.2.4. Removal and installation of a wheel

Removal

Turn off nuts of fastening of wheels approximately on 180 ° (half-turn) (fig. 4.13).
Lift the car on the elevator.
Remove a wheel.

ATTENTION
Never heat a wheel for simplification of its removal because high temperature can reduce service life of a disk and bearings of a wheel.

Installation
Installation is made as it should be, the return to removal, except for the following.
Nuts of fastening of a wheel has to be are tightened in a certain sequence and the corresponding moment of an inhaling to prevent deformation of a disk of a wheel or brake disk.

NOTE
Before installation of wheels, remove a rust from a landing surface of a disk of a wheel and a landing surface of a brake disk with a scraper and a wire brush. Installation of disks in the absence of good contact of landing surfaces can lead to weakening of an inhaling of a nut of a disk with the subsequent office of a wheel at the movement of the car (fig. 4.14).

Moment of an inhaling of a nut of wheels (a): 85 N · m.
