8.3.1. Windshield design

The windshield is established with use of special glue (namely, unicomponent glue on the basis of urethane used with primer). For replacement of a windshield, it is important to use glue which provides sufficient adhesion and to follow the established procedure of replacement.

ATTENTION
Here the procedure of replacement of glass with use of 3 types of primers and 1 type of glue, production YOKOHAMA (the unicomponent uretanovy glue used in a combination with primer) is described. At use of primer and glue of other producer, follow indications of the producer. Negligence at implementation of the procedure of gluing in or the wrong use of glue can lead to violation of its gluing properties. Therefore, before work attentively read the description and instructions on use of glue given by the manufacturer of glue, and in the course of work follow the described procedure and observe all precautionary measures.

In case of damage of a covering of the painted surfaces surely eliminate damages, otherwise, these damages can become a corrosion source.
Use special glue which has the following properties.
Strength of glue connection at shift not less than 40 kg/cm2.
The materials and tools demanded for removal and installation of glass:
– the unicomponent uretanovy glue and primers shared (for one windshield);
– glue (470 g);
– primer for glass (30 g);
– primer for a body (30 g);
– primer for a molding (30 g);
– pricker;
– royalny wire;
– special knife;
