Dismantling (for the tripod hinge)

Remove a big collar of a cover of the internal hinge, then remove the case of the hinge 1 (fig. 3.129).

Remove jellied lubricant from a shaft and remove a lock ring 1 by means of the special tool (fig. 3.130).

Remove a nave 1 by means of a three-armed stripper of 2 (fig. 3.131).

ATTENTION
Do not wash the tripod hinge, except for the case. Removal of lubricant from the hinge is allowed by fabric.

Remove a small collar of a cover of the internal hinge, then remove a cover from a shaft.
Remove a damper if is available.
Remove collars of a cover of the external hinge, then remove a cover from a shaft.

ATTENTION
Dismantling of the external hinge is not allowed. If the hinge is damaged, replace it assembled.
Do not sort a tripod hinge crosspiece. If the hinge is damaged, replace it assembled.

Remove a big collar of a cover of the internal hinge 1 (fig. 3.132).

Displace a cover 1 to the center of a shaft and remove a lock ring 2 cases, then take out a shaft from the case 3 (fig. 3.133).

Remove jellied lubricant and remove a lock ring of 1 holder 2 by means of the special tool (fig. 3.134).

Remove a holder 1 by means of a stripper for bearings 2, remove a cover 3 from a shaft (fig. 3.135).
Remove a small collar of a cover of the internal hinge, then remove a cover from a shaft.
Remove a damper if is available.
Remove collars of a cover of the external hinge, then remove a cover from a shaft.

ATTENTION
Dismantling of the external hinge is not allowed. If the hinge is damaged, replace it assembled.

Remove a lock ring of the bearing 1 (fig. 3.137).
Remove the bearing from a support.

Assembly (for the "tripod" hinge)
By results of assessment of technical condition before dismantling and to results of check of elements after dismantling, prepare spare parts and collect the hinge.

The external hinge 1 and the case of the tripod 2 hinge has to be washed carefully up and dried up by compressed air. Replace a cover(s) to 3 new (fig. 3.138).

ATTENTION
Do not wash covers in the degreasing means, like gasoline or kerosene, etc. Moika in the degreasing means leads to damage of a cover.
To guarantee optimum performance data of the hinge, be convinced that it is correct and in the corresponding quantity you use two types of jellied lubricants from a repair kit.

Color of jellied A lubricant: black, "B": orange.
Quantity of "A": 45–65 g.
"B": 90–110 g for the right drive of all-wheel drive models.
"B": 110–120 g for models with the drive on two wheels and the left drive of all-wheel drive models.
Wash up details (except covers). After a sink, completely dry up details compressed air.
Clear covers fabric.
Apply jellied lubricant on the external hinge. Use jellied lubricant from a repair kit.
Establish a cover of the external hinge on a shaft.

Fill a cover with the specified jellied lubricant, then fix a cover by collars of 1 (fig. 3.139).

ATTENTION
Bend cover collars against the direction of rotation (A).
Do not squeeze a cover at installation of collars.
Deformation of a cover at the expense of the air which remained in it can reduce its durability.

Establish a damper 1 on a power shaft maintaining the distances given below (fig. 3.140).
The adjusting provision of a damper of a power shaft (distance "and" between a control point and a damper), the right power shaft of cars with the drive on two wheels: 369–375 mm.
The left power shaft of cars with the drive on two wheels and all-wheel drive models: 189,5–195,5 mm.

Temporarily establish a new small collar and a new cover of the external hinge 1 on a shaft, then apply jellied lubricant on the tripod 2 hinge. Use jellied lubricant from a repair kit (fig. 3.141).
Establish a crosspiece of the tripod 3 hinge on a shaft by means of the special tool and the hammer (the rounded-off edges of shlits of a crosspiece have to be directed towards a wheel), then establish a new lock ring of 4 (fig. 3.141).

Apply jellied lubricant on an internal part of the case of the tripod 1 hinge, connect the case to the hinge and install a cover 2 on the case of the hinge (fig. 3.142). After installation of a cover, insert the screw-driver under a cover from the case and level air pressure in and outside of a cover at the position of the hinge shown in the drawing.

At installation of a big collar 3 covers 1 on the case of the hinge 2 it is necessary to maintain the sizes provided below (fig. 3.143).
The provision of a cover of a power shaft (distance between a control point and a small collar of a cover) for models with the drive on two wheels and the left drive of the all-wheel drive a models: 157,5–167,5 mm. Right drive of the all-wheel drive b models: 182,5–192,5 mm.

ATTENTION
Bend cover collars against the direction of rotation.

Do not squeeze a cover at installation of collars. Deformation of a cover at the expense of the air which remained in it can reduce its durability (fig. 3.144).

For DOJ hinges

Establish a cover of the external hinge on a shaft, fill a cover with jellied lubricant, then fix a cover by collars of 1 (fig. 3.146).

ATTENTION
Bend cover collars against the direction of rotation (A).

To establish a damper 1 on the left power shaft maintaining the following sizes (fig. 3.147).
The adjusting provision of a damper of a power shaft, (distance between a control point and a damper), the left power shaft for models with the drive on two wheels: 187–193 mm.
The left power shaft for all-wheel drive models: 191–197 mm.
Temporarily establish a small collar of a cover of the internal hinge and a new cover on a shaft.

Establish a holder 1 by means of a pipe 2 (fig. 3.148).

ATTENTION
Establish a holder, the party of a holder with smaller outer diameter has to be turned towards a wheel.

Diameter of a pipe for installation of a holder of the hinge of a shaft of the drive of a wheel: "a" – 23,0 mm or more, "b" – 32,0 mm or less.

Establish a lock ring 1 by means of the special tool (fig. 3.149).
Apply jellied lubricant on a holder surface. Use jellied lubricant from a repair kit.

Install a holder in the case of the hinge 2 and a lock ring 1 in a flute of the case of the hinge 2 (fig. 3.150).

ATTENTION
The section of a lock ring "with" has to be located on one line with a ball.

Apply jellied lubricant on the internal surface of the case of the hinge 1, then install a cover 2 on the case of the hinge (fig. 3.151). After installation of a cover, insert the screw-driver under a cover from the case and level air pressure in and outside of a cover at the position of the hinge shown in the drawing.

At installation of a big collar 3 covers 1 on the case of the hinge 2 it is necessary to maintain the sizes provided below (fig. 3.152).

The provision of a cover of a power shaft (distance between a control point and a small collar of a cover).
The left power shaft for models with the drive on two wheels of "d": 166,5–176,5 mm.
The left power shaft for the all-wheel drive d models: 158,5–168,5 mm.
The right power shaft for models with the drive on two wheels and the all-wheel drive e models: 188–198 mm.

For the central shaft and its support
Establish the central shaft as it should be, the return to removal, except for the following.

At installation of a lock ring of a support 1, make sure that it got to a support 2 flute, as shown in the figure 3.153.
