4.4.7. Dismantling and assembly of a rack of a back suspension bracket assembled

Dismantling

Fig. 4.87. Compression of a spring special adaptation

At established on a spring, as shown in the figure 4.87, the special tool (A) serially tighten bolts of the special tool until details of a rack are not exempted from loading from a spring. If the rack can turn at a motionless spring of a rack, then it is possible to consider that the spring is compressed enough.

Fig. 4.88. Otvorachivany nuts are resistant

Without removing from a spring of the special tool, turn off a nut of a rack (fig. 4.88).
Sort a suspension bracket rack.

Assembly

Fig. 4.89. Compression of a spring special adaptation: A – top party (small diameter); B – lower party (big diameter)

Squeeze a spring the special tool (A) so that its full length made about 290 mm, as shown in the figure 4.89.

Length
"a": 290 mm (11,42’’) – for cars with a body "hatchback".
"a": 260 mm (10,23’’) – for cars with a body "sedan".

Fig. 4.90. Installation of a spring on the lower support of a cup

Install the lower basic cup of a cylindrical spring 2 and a cylindrical spring, the end of a spring has to get to a ledge in the lower basic cup, as shown in the figure 4.90.
Install the compression buffer on a rack rod.
Install the protection cover on the compression buffer.

Fig. 4.91. Installation of rubber laying on the top basic cup of a spring

Establish rubber laying 2 on the top basic cup of a spring 1. Rubber laying should not support the top basic cup (fig. 4.91).
Extend a rack rod as far as possible and you watch that it did not come back to a rack.

Fig. 4.92. Installation of the top cup of a spring

Having combined a tag of "OUT" 3 on the top basic cup of a spring 1 with the center of an arm of a rack 2, install the top cup of a spring together with rubber laying on a spring (fig. 4.92).

Fig. 4.93. Final installation of a rack

Establish a support of a rack 2 on the top basic cup of a spring 3. Tighten a rack nut 1 nominal force of an inhaling (fig. 4.93).
Moment of an inhaling of the top nut of a rack (a): 70 N · m.
Weaken and remove the special tool (A) installed when performing the first operation for compression of a cylindrical spring. When weakening the special tool, be convinced that the ledge of a cup of a spring is combined with the end of a spring as it is described earlier. Besides, be convinced that marking on the top basic cup, coincides with the center of an arm of a rack.

Check of a rack of a back suspension bracket assembled
Check a rack for existence of leak of oil, damages or deformation. If the rack is faulty, replace it assembled because it has a non-demountable design.

Check of work of a rack
Check and adjust pressure in tires. To Prozhmita a back part of a body of the car 3 or 4 of time from the checked rack. Putting identical effort at each push estimate rack resistance at the course of compression and a release.
Besides, remember how many fluctuations the car body to a stop made after impact on it was stopped. Make the same for a rack on the other hand. Compare resistance of a rack and number of fluctuations on the right and at the left. The left and right racks have to behave equally. If the rack is serviceable, the body of the car has to stop the movement right after the termination of influence or having made only one or two fluctuations of small amplitude after the influence termination. If the condition of racks raises doubts, compare them to obviously serviceable.
Check for existence of cracks, deformations or damages.
Check for existence of unusual noise.
Check for existence of cracks or deformation of a cup of a spring.
Check for existence of damages of the buffer of compression.
Check a rack support for existence of wear, cracks or deformation. Replace all faulty details.
