1.5.9. Device of a preliminary tension of seat belts (additional equipment)

For definition whether the car with system of a preliminary tension of belts on front seats is equipped, find a sticker in the lower part of forward belts.

If on it there are letters "r" and (or) "PRE" (see the figure 1.155), the car is equipped with this system. Operation of belts in this case not отличаетЬя from operation of usual belts.

The system of a preliminary tension of seat belts works together with system of pneumopillows. Sensors of collision and the electronic controller of system of pneumopillows operate also a preliminary tension of seat belts. If the system of pneumopillows works, also seat belts stretch. The general information (including servicing) and precautionary measures are given in addition to this section also in the section "Pnevmopodushki"; follow these instructions and precautionary measures.

The mechanism of a preliminary tension is combined with bobbin mechanisms of forward seat belts. Thanks to its action the belt fits a body in case of head-on collision more tightly. Blocking devices after inclusion in operation of the mechanism of a preliminary tension are locked. Operation of the mechanism is followed by a characteristic sound and release of smoke. It does not constitute danger and do not testify the fire in the car.

The driver and all passengers have to be fastened by seat belts always, irrespective of existence of the device of a preliminary tension. You sit directly, leaning all back on a seatback, do not bend forward or in the parties. Adjust a belt so that its lower part passed as low as possible on hips, but not up to a waist. Consider that devices of a pretension and Pnevmopodushki work only at strong head-on collisions. They do not react to blows behind or sideways, capsizing or insignificant head-on collisions. Devices of a preliminary tension work only once. If they (and pneumopillows) worked, it is necessary to address as soon as possible the authorized representative of Suzuki for maintenance of system. If the AIR BAG indicator ('pneumopillow') on the dashboard does not blink, does not light up for a short time at inclusion of ignition, more than 10 burn with or unexpectedly lights up during the movement, then the device of a preliminary tension or a pneumopillow can be faulty. In this case it is necessary to address quickly the authorized representative of Suzuki for their check.

All operations on servicing of devices or conducting of system of a pretension of belts or work on something as another near these devices and conducting have to be carried out by specially trained personnel of the dealer of Suzuki. Low-quality servicing of the device of a preliminary tension of belts can cause their operation for nothing or failure. In both cases serious injuries are possible.

That devices of a preliminary tension of belts were not damaged and did not work for nothing, track that before carrying out any work in the electrical system of your Suzuki the accumulator was switched-off, and the ignition key would be in the provision of "LOCK" not less than 90 pages.

Do not concern devices of a preliminary tension of belts or their conducting. Wires of system are wound by a yellow insulating tape or laid in tubes of yellow color, connection of also yellow color.
