3.1.6. Dismantling and assembly of the main cylinder of coupling

Fig. 3.13. Details of the main cylinder of coupling: 1 – tank cover; 2 – cylinder; 3 – laying; 4 – returnable spring; 5 – piston assembled; 6 – pusher assembled; 7 – lock ring; 8 – protective cover

Dismantling

Fig. 3.14. Removal of a cover and lock ring

Remove a cover 1 and a lock ring 2 at the drowned rod of the piston 3 (fig. 3.14).

Fig. 3.15. Extraction of the piston

Give compressed air to an opening for connection of the pipeline to push out the piston assembled 1, you watch that it did not jump out (fig. 3.15).

Assembly

NOTE
Before installation, wash up all details in brake fluid.

Apply brake fluid on the piston in collecting and on cylinder walls.
Install the piston assembled in the cylinder.
Drown the piston and a pusher 3, establish a lock ring 2, as shown in the figure 3.14.
Establish a cover 1.

Check of the main cylinder of coupling
Check all details for existence of wear or damages and replace details in case of need.

ATTENTION
Polishing of walls of the cylinder with the aluminum case abrasive materials and the tool as it is possible to damage walls is not allowed.

NOTE
Wash up all details in brake fluid.
Do not reuse the piston and a lock ring.

Check cylinder walls for existence of scratches or corrosion.
Replace the cylinder treated to corrosion action. Corrosion can be identified as poles or an excessive roughness.
Wash out the cylinder in pure brake fluid. Shake the liquid remains after rinsing.
Do not use fabric for removal of the remains of liquid as fibers of fabric can remain in the cylinder
