At established on a spring, as shown in the figure 4.30, the special tool (A) serially tighten bolts of the special tool until details of a rack are not exempted from loading from a spring. If the rack can turn at a motionless spring of a rack, then it is possible to consider that the spring is compressed enough.

ATTENTION
Use a stripper of springs and follow the operating procedure described in the instruction to a stripper of springs.

Without removing from a spring of the special tool, turn off a nut of a rack (fig. 4.31).
Sort a suspension bracket rack.

Assembly
Assembly is made as it should be, the return to dismantling, in view of the following.

Squeeze a spring the special tool (A) so that its full length made about 250 mm, as shown in the figure 4.32.

Length
"a": 250 mm (9.8 inches.), for cars with a body "hatchback".
"a": 230 mm (9.0 inches.), for cars with a body "sedan".

Install the lower basic cup of a cylindrical spring 1 and a cylindrical spring, the end of a spring has to get to a ledge in the lower basic cup, as shown in the figure 4.33.
Install the buffer of compression and the protection cover on a rack rod.
Extend a rack rod as far as possible and you watch that it did not come back to a rack.

Install a plate of a spring on a spring, then install the top basic cup 1, having combined tags 3 on the top basic cup of a spring and the center of an arm of a rack of 2 (fig. 4.34).

Install the bearing 3, a support of a rack 2 and a nut 1 observing the sequence (fig. 4.35).
Tighten a rack nut 1 nominal force of an inhaling.
Moment of an inhaling of a nut of fastening of a rack (a): 70 N · m.
Establish a rubber cover 4.
