2.3.12. Check and adjustment of a tension of a driving belt of the pump of cooling liquid / generator

ATTENTION
Before check and adjustment of a tension of a belt disconnect a wire from a negative conclusion of the rechargeable battery.
Not to get burns, do not remove a radiator stopper if the engine and a radiator did not cool down yet. If the engine cooled down not enough, then at removal of a stopper of a radiator there can be an emission of hot liquid and steam.

Check a belt for existence of cracks, cuts, deformations, wear and pollution. If it is necessary to replace a belt.
Check a belt tension. The belt is tense normally if it has a deflection from 4,5 to 5,5 mm under pressure of a hand thumb (about 100 N).

Tension of a driving belt of the pump cooling the liquid / generator: a deflection of 4,5-5,5 mm at effort of 100 N (fig. 2.197).

NOTE
When replacing a belt with new, adjust a belt tension so that the deflection made 3–4 mm.

If the belt is tense too strongly or too poorly, adjust a tension movement of the generator (fig. 2.198).
Tighten an adjusting bolt of the generator and bolts of hinges nominal force.
Connect a negative wire in the rechargeable battery.

Inhaling moment
Adjusting bolt of the generator (a): 23 N · m.
Bolt of the hinge of the generator (b): 50 N · m.
