3.3.17. Removal and installation of a cable of blocking of a key

NOTE At removal and installation do not bend a blocking cable excessively, otherwise, the system will correctly not work.

If the car is equipped with system of passive safety, disconnect a wire from a negative conclusion of the rechargeable battery and disconnect system of passive safety.

Uncover a steering column.

Turn the ignition key in position of ACC.

Extend a cable of blocking of a key 1 of a cover of the cylinder of the lock 2 pressing a clamp the screw-driver with flat shliyets of 3 (fig. 3.116).

Turn the ignition key in position of LOCK.

Remove facing of the drive of the parking brake system and the console.

Disconnect the end of a cable 1 from a cam of blocking 2, having pressed ledges 3 on inflow of a cam.

You watch to damaging ledges (fig. 3.117).

Uncover the case of a cable 4 a selector 5 arm, having pressed a clamp (fig. 3.117).

Remove a blocking cable.

Lay a blocking cable as it was laid before removal.

Turn the ignition key in position of ACC.

Establish a cover of the case of a cable 1 in a cover of the cylinder of the lock 2 (fig. 3.118).

Extend the button of 1 blocking of the end of a cable from the selector 2 (fig. 3.119).

Transfer the selector lever to situation "N".

NOTE If the lever of the selector is in situation.

Establish a cover of the case of a cable 3 on an arm of the selector 4 (fig. 3.120).

Connect the end of a cable 1 to a cam of blocking 2, at the same time the key in the lock of ignition has to be in position of ACC (fig. 3.120).

Put on the blocking button 5 the end of a cable before its fixing on a cable (fig. 3.120).

Install the selector lever in situation "P", turn the ignition key in position of ACC and check performance of the following conditions.

At the released button the ignition key can be turned from position of ACC in position of LOCK.

At the pressed button the ignition key cannot be turned from position of ACC in position of LOCK.

Establish a cover of a steering column.

If the car is equipped with system of passive safety, connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery and include system of passive safety.
