2.1.13. Check of a spark plug
ATTENTION
At service of iridic / platinum spark plugs (a candle with a thin central electrode), do not concern the central electrode to avoid its damage. The electrode should not be exposed to mechanical influence as it has small diameter, and material of an electrode has no sufficient mechanical durability.

|
Do not clear electrodes and do not regulate a gap between electrodes of iridic / platinum spark plugs (fig. 2.30).
If when checking nickel spark plugs some aberration takes place, adjust a gap, clear spark plugs a special cleaner or replace them new.
Always replace iridic / platinum spark plugs new.
Gap between electrodes of the spark plug: 1,0–1,1 mm.
Type of the NGK spark plug: BKR6E-11 (Nickel) / IFR6E11 (Iridium) / IFR6J11
(Iridium)
DENSO: K20PR-U11 (Nickel)
NOTE
NGK IFR6E11/IFR6J11 are recommended for improvement of starting characteristics of the engine at temperatures below -25 °C.
