2.1.5. Check of gaps in the drive of valves

Disconnect a negative wire from the rechargeable battery.
Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
Remove the lower cover of the engine of the right side, in case of need.

Using a wrench on 17 mm, turn a pulley of a bent shaft 1 clockwise so that ledges of cams 2 were established perpendicular to the surfaces of adjusting laying of 3 1 and 7 valves, as shown in the figure 2.15.
Check gaps the probe 4 according to the following procedure.
a) Check gaps in 1 and 7 valves.
b) Turn cam-shafts on 90 ° (rotating a bent shaft a wrench).
c) Make sure that ledges of cams are perpendicular to the surfaces of adjusting laying of valves which will be checked (in this case, "3" and "8"), otherwise correct the provision of a bent shaft. Check gaps in valves.
By analogy with b) – c) adjust gaps in 4 and 6 valves.
By analogy with b) – c) adjust gaps in 2 and 5 valves.
If the gap is in the drive of valves out of a tolerance zone, write down values of the measured gaps in the drive of valves and adjust them selection and replacement of laying.

Close the valve, adjusting laying 2 which it will be replaced, rotating a bent shaft, then turn a valve 3 pusher so that its cut 1 was turned inside, as shown in the figure 2.16.
Lower the valve turn of a bent shaft on 360 ° down
Using the special tool record a valve pusher in this situation as follows.
a) Turn off case bolts.
b) Check No. of the case and choose the corresponding No. at the case of the special tool, according to "The table of the choice of the special tool".

Hold a valve pusher at the necessary level that it did not concern adjusting laying when fastening special adaptation on the camshaft case a case 1 bolt, tighten case bolts the nominal force of an inhaling (fig. 2.18).
Moment of an inhaling of a bolt of the case of the camshaft (a): 8 N · m (for an inhaling of the special tool).

Turn a cam-shaft approximately on 90 ° clockwise and remove adjusting laying of 3 (fig. 2.19).

Using a micrometer 2, measure thickness of the removed adjusting laying 1, and determine thickness of new laying by the following formula and the table (fig. 2.20).

Thickness of adjusting laying
Party of an admission: A=B + With – 0,20 mm.
Party of release: A=B + mm C–0,30.
A: Thickness of new laying.
B: Thickness of the removed laying.
C: The measured valvate gap.

Numbers and amount of new laying

For example, from an admission: when thickness of the removed laying – 2,40 mm, and the measured valvate gap – 0,45 mm:
And = 2,40 mm + 0,45 mm – 0,20 mm =
= 2,65 mm.
Settlement thickness of new laying = 2.65 mm.
Pick up new laying for No. 1 so that its thickness was as it is possible closer by a calculated value.

Establish new laying so that the party of laying with number was turned to a pusher of the valve (fig. 2.21).

Lift the valve rotating a bent shaft counterclockwise (in the direction opposite to the direction of rotation in operation on removal of laying and remove special adaptation (fig. 2.22).

Install the case of the camshaft 1 and tighten bolts the nominal force of an inhaling (fig. 2.23).
Moment of an inhaling of a bolt of the case of the camshaft (a): 11 N · m.
After adjustment check a valvate gap again.
After check and adjustment of gaps of all valves establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
