2.1.7. Check and cleaning of the cooling system of the engine

NOTE Not to get burns, do not remove a radiator stopper if the engine and a radiator did not cool down yet. If the engine cooled down not enough, then at removal of a stopper of a radiator there can be an emission of hot liquid and steam.

Check the cooling system for existence of leaks or damages.

Wash out a stopper of a radiator and a jellied mouth clear water, remove a stopper of a radiator when the engine cools down.

Check the level and density of cooling liquid.

Using the device for check of tightness 1, check system and a stopper of a radiator of 2 (fig. 2.25). If replacement of a cover is necessary, use the cover suitable for this car.

The cooling system and stopper of a radiator have to keep pressure (when checking) 110 kPa.

NOTE After installation of a stopper of a radiator on a radiator make sure that an ear on a cover a parallel to a radiator.

Tighten collars of hoses and check all hoses. Replace hoses every time when cracks, swellings or other defects are found.

Clear a forward part of an active zone of a radiator.
