Check
Undertake the center of the handle of the lever of the drive of the parking brake system and tighten it with effort of 200 N.
Without changing position of the lever count quantity of teeths of a ratchet. There have to be 6–8 clicks.
Besides, check whether both back wheels are reliably blocked.

That it was easier to count number of teeths, listen to clicks which are published by the ratchet mechanism at an inhaling of the lever of the drive of the parking brake system without pressing its button (fig. 6.44).
One click corresponds to one tooth.
If the number of teeths (number of clicks) differs from norm, adjust a cable according to the procedure of adjustment to receive the set course of the lever of the parking brake system.

NOTE
Check a condition of teeths (damage or wear).
In the presence of damages or wear replace the lever of the drive of the parking brake system.

Adjustment
Several times press a brake pedal with effort about 300 N.

NOTE
Before adjustment of a cable be convinced of the following.
In the brake system there is no air.
The course of a brake pedal meets standard.

Several times tighten the lever of the drive of the parking brake system 1 with effort about 200 N.

If the cable of the parking brake system was replaced new, several times tighten the lever of the drive of the parking brake system with effort about 500 N (fig. 6.45).
Back brake shoes are not worn-out to a limit, and the mechanism of adjustment of a gap works properly.
After performance of preliminary check adjust the course of the lever of the drive of the parking brake system easing or an inhaling of an adjusting nut of 3 (fig. 6.45).

NOTE
After adjustment check a prikhvatyvaniye of the brake drum.

The course of the lever of the parking brake system (at effort of an inhaling of 200 N of 6-9 clicks.
