2.5.18. Dismantling and assembly of the fuel pump

Sort and repeatedly collect the fuel pump, in view of the following.

ATTENTION
At removal of the fuel level sensor, do not concern a plate of the resistor 1 and you watch to deforming the lever 2. It can lead to failure of the fuel level sensor.

At removal of the condensing ring from a fuel tube or an arm you watch to damaging established (in an opening) a part of the condensing ring. In case of damage of a ring replace it new, otherwise, in this place fuel leak is possible.

Fig. 2.259. Removal of the fuel level sensor

At removal of the fuel level sensor 3, press on a clamp 4 and shift it in the direction of an arrow, as shown in the figure 2.259.
At installation of the fuel level sensor on the case, you watch that it was reliably fixed.

Check of the fuel pump
Check the fuel pump for existence of damages.

Fig. 2.260. Fuel filter and fuel level sensor

Check the fuel filter 1 for availability of dirt and a contamination (fig. 2.260).
If this is so, replace or clear and check the fuel tank for dirt availability inside.
For check of work or check of an electric part see.
For check of the fuel level sensor 2 (fig. 2.260).
Valve check of adjustment of pressure in a tank is made as follows.

ATTENTION
Do not suck away air through a hose of removal of vapors of fuel. Vapors of fuel constitute health hazard.

Fig. 2.261. Fuel supply valve purge

At a purge air has to pass without hindrances through the valve 2 from a hose of removal of vapors of fuel 3 from "A" to "B" (fig. 2.261).
Besides, at connection of the vacuum pump to a hose of removal of vapors of fuel and air supply from the pump has to pass through the valve, air from "B" to "A".
If air does not pass through the valve when performing operation a, or when performing operation b. Vacuum remains, replace the fuel filter assembled with 1 (fig. 2.261).
