5.2.1. Removal and installation of a steering wheel
|
ATTENTION
After removal of a steering wheel the contact spiral receives freedom of movement, do not turn a contact spiral (on the combined switch) more than on two and a quarter turns from the central situation on or counterclockwise, otherwise, the spiral will break.
Do not remove the lower facing from a steering wheel not to lose fixing screws. If facing was removed, replace it new.
Never disassemble the switch of control of the audio system. After dismantling of its function can be broken.

Remove the module of an inflatable safety cushion of the driver from a steering wheel (fig. 5.3).

Disconnect the socket of 1 switch of control of the audio system 2 (fig. 5.4). Turn off a nut of a steering shaft.

Make adjusting tags 1 on a steering wheel and a shaft for the subsequent assembly (fig. 5.5).

ATTENTION
You do not strike blows to the end of a shaft. It can lead to weakening of plastic pins which provide the set length of a column and its power absorbing functions.

Remove a steering wheel 1 by means of the special tool (fig. 5.6).
Installation
If necessary establish new lower facing of a steering wheel on a steering wheel as follows.

a) To establish the lower facing of a steering wheel 1 on a steering wheel 2 and tighten screws of the lower facing of a steering wheel the 3rd nominal force of an inhaling (fig. 5.7). Moment of an inhaling of screws of the lower facing of a steering wheel (a): 0,85 N · m.

b) Install the switch of control of the audio system 1 on a steering wheel of 2 (fig. 5.8). Make sure that forward wheels of the car are in provision of the rectilinear movement, and the contact spiral is in the central situation.

ATTENTION
These two conditions have to be satisfied before installation of a steering wheel. If the steering wheel was established without check of these conditions, the contact spiral will break at turn of a steering wheel.

At installation of a new steering wheel put an adjusting tag in the same place of a new steering wheel, as well as on the removed steering wheel.

Establish a steering wheel 1 on a steering shaft so that 3 ledges 2 on a contact spiral settled down in three flutes 3 from the back of a steering wheel, and also a tag 4 on a steering wheel and a steering shaft coincided (fig. 5.9).

Tighten a nut of a shaft of steering by 1 nominal force of an inhaling (fig. 5.10). Moment of an inhaling of a nut of a steering shaft (a): 33 N · m.

NOTE
After installation of a steering wheel turn it approximately on one turn so that the pin of a cam got to an opening in a steering wheel, then check operation of the switch of a signal of turn.

Connect the socket of the switch of control of the audio system to the switch of control of the audio system.
Install the module of an inflatable safety cushion of the driver on a steering wheel.
