5.2.8. Check of a free wheeling of a steering wheel

Check a steering wheel for existence of gaps in the axial and cross direction.
At failure detection, repair or replace.

Check a free wheeling of a steering wheel, the steering wheel has to be in provision of the rectilinear movement, the engine has to be stopped (fig. 5.34).
If the free wheeling of a steering wheel does not meet standard, check the following and replace if necessary.
– wear of a spherical finger of a steering rod end of draft
– wear of the lower spherical hinge
– wear of the hinge of a steering shaft
– wear or damage of a gear wheel or lath of the steering mechanism
– gaps in all connections
Free wheeling of a steering wheel of "a": 0–30 mm.
