5.2.2. Removal and installation of a contact spiral and the combined switch

ATTENTION
Do not turn a contact spiral (on the combined switch) more than on two and a quarter turns from the central situation on or counterclockwise, otherwise, the spiral will break.

Removal
Remove a steering wheel, see. "Removal and installation of a steering wheel".

Remove the lower panel of a steering column 1 (fig. 5.11).

Unscrew screws of a cover of a steering column 1 (fig. 5.12).
Separate the top cover 2 from the lower cover 3, then remove their (fig. 5.12).

Remove a contact spiral and unscrew screws of the combined switch 1, disconnect sockets 2 from the combined switch 3 (fig. 5.13).

Disconnect the socket of a sound signal and the socket of an inflatable safety cushion 1 from a plait of the dashboard (fig. 5.14).
Remove a contact spiral and the combined switch from a steering column.

Installation
Make sure that forward wheels of the car are established in provision of the rectilinear movement, then install the ignition switch in the provision of "LOCK".

Establish a contact spiral and the combined switch 3, then connect all sockets disconnected at removal (fig. 5.15).

NOTE
The new contact spiral assembled with the combined switch is delivered in spare parts established in the central situation with the blocking pin 1 and consolidation 2. Remove the blocking pin after installation of a contact spiral and the combined switch on a steering column (fig. 5.15).

Establish the top facing steering columns 2 and the lower cover 3, then tighten screws of a cover of a steering column 1 (fig. 5.16).

ATTENTION
At installation of the lower facing 3 and the top facing 2 you watch that wires of a contact spiral and the combined switch did not get between covers (fig. 5.16).

Install the lower panel of a steering column 1 (fig. 5.11).
Establish a steering wheel on a steering shaft.
