5.2.20. Removal and installation of a cover of a draft / lath

Remove the steering mechanism from the car, see. "Removal and installation of the steering mechanism".

Apply marking 4 provisions of a lock-nut of a tip of steering draft on a carving of draft (fig. 5.63).

Weaken a lock-nut of a tip of steering draft 2 and remove a tip of steering draft.

Remove a collar of a cover and a clip (fig. 5.62).

Remove a cover 3 from draft of 1 (fig. 5.63).

Unbend the bent ends of 1 lock washer of draft and remove draft 2 from a lath of 3 (fig. 5.64).

To establish a new lock washer of draft, then connect draft to a lath.

Tighten a draft nut the nominal force of an inhaling.

Moment of an inhaling of a nut of draft (a): 70 N · m.

Bend a lock washer in 3 places 1, as shown in the figure 5.65.

Establish a cover in flutes of the case of the steering mechanism 2 and draft 4, then fix it by a collar 1 and a clip of 3 (fig. 5.66).

The collar has to be new, after installation both of its ends have to be twisted together. The twisted ends have to be bent to the periphery.

After that check lack of twisting and dents on a cover.

Establish a lock-nut of a tip of steering draft and a tip of steering draft on draft. The provision of a lock-nut has to correspond to marking 1 made at removal (fig. 5.67).

NOTE After draft replacement, measure distance of "A" on the removed draft and adjust the provision of a lock-nut on new draft as appropriate.

To install a box of the steering mechanism on the car addressing "Removal and installation of Transfer of the amplifier of steering".
