1.6.15. The movement on rises and descents

Fig. 1.173. Provisions of levers of switching of KP on rises and descents

On the steep slope the movement can be slowed down, and shortage of power is felt. It is necessary to pass to lower transfer that the engine could work again at the turns giving normal power. Switch quickly that the car did not lose speed. On descents the engine can be used for braking – by inclusion of lower transfer. (It can be done both at manual, and at the automatic transmission).
Do not press a brake pedal long and often on long or abrupt descent. Brakes will overheat and will lose efficiency, and the car – controllability.
ATTENTION
At the movement on descent never put the ignition key on "OFF", i.e. do not switch off ignition. It is possible to put out of action the catalyst and the automatic transmission (at its existence).
