1.6.40. Replacement of lamps

Lamps, especially halogen, can be burningly hot after switching off and can burn to you fingers. Change a lamp after it cooled down.

Lamps of headlights of the car are filled under pressure gas and vapors of halogen. They can blow up and put injuries if to hit them or to drop. Handle with them with care.

Remove the lens by means of the flat end of the screw-driver wound by soft fabric (see the figure 1.227). For installation just put it back. For replacement of a lamp extend it from a nest. Check whether reliably hold contacts a new lamp.

Open a cowl. Otjedinite connector. Remove a rubber sealant. Press the holding spring and races - fix it. Remove a lamp. Insert a new lamp and do other operations upside-down.

The lamp is non-demountable, it is changed entirely. Take a lamp, hooking it in front the flat screw-driver wound by fabric. Notice that the lamp at the same time can break.

The cartridge is taken from a lamp, turning it counterclockwise and extending. Establishing a cartridge back, insert it into a lamp, press and turn clockwise.

There are two types of lamps – glass, oval 1 and glass-metal, round 2. Extraction and installation of glass lamps is made respectively by a pulling and pressing in. For removal of a round lamp 2 of the boss press a lamp and turn it counterclockwise. The new lamp is inserted into a cartridge, pressing and turning clockwise.

How to reach to each separate lamp and its boss, it is shown below.

ATTENTION For removal of a lamp of the repeater of a stoplight unhook the screw-driver only latches 1 and 2; uvulas 3 and 4 in attempt to take away them by force will break.
